On September 21, 2017, China Arbitration Week 2017 Guilin Event, jointly hosted by CIETAC Southwest Sub-Commission, CMAC Southwest Sub-Commission, Guangxi Normal University and Guangxi Sincere Law Firm, was successfully held in Guilin. More than 150 leaders, professors, experts, lawyers, and teathers and students from Guangxi Normal University , the Legal Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Guilin Municipality, Guilin Arbitration Commission, the Guilin Lawyers Association, and major law firms in Guilin attended the event.

In his speech, the Vice President of Guangxi Normal University Li Jiayong hoped to enhance the cooperation between univiserties and practicing departments, so as to increase the awareness of arbitration and theoretical level of Guangxi Normal University and even Guangxi Province as a whole.

Secretary General of CIETAC Southwest Sub-Commission Li Xiaoguang made a speech, in which she emphasized on the mission of arbitration system and its huge development space in current legal environment, and introduced to the participants the origins, features and the future trends of arbitration.

Zhou Xuzhao, the Director of Guangxi Sincere Law Firm and the arbitrator of Naning Arbitration Commission shared with the participants his own understanding of arbitration at the seminar.

The Dean of Guangxi Normal University Law School Chen Zongbo pointed out that, as a gateway to the ASEAN region, Guangxi Province is decisive in the implementation of the B&R Initiative in the Southeast Asia. With the deepening implementation of the B&R Initiative in Guangxi, the functions of arbitration and legal services during the Going-Out process have become more important. He hoped to further promote the cooperation with CIETAC/CMAC, starting with the current event, and to hold more theoretical and practical arbitration activities in the future.
